We are still working on the route from Philly to Route S. Anyone out there who can help? I would not mind if it was some mild off-road terrain.

So has anyone realized that PA Route S takes us through the Breezewood Tunnels? Looking forward to that two mile stretch of original turnpike tunnel...
Better bring some lights!
I was looking foward to the Big Savage Tunnel myself, but we pick up the Allegheny Passage too far north.
Lights seem like a good post subject.
sorry to disappoint you, but bike route S does not go through the breezewood tunnels... YET. that portion of the abandoned turnpike will eventually be both a bike trail and a part of route S. presently the road is in poor repair having been abandoned for 30 years. you can ride your bike there (at your own risk as the sign says). the entrance is a little hidden, but not too hard to find. the exit requires carrying your bike down a steep enbankment. but i feel its worth doing, saves you climbing two mountains! and its fucking cool to see!
